Help!

Do you teach music?
Do you teach music to students with special needs?
How about teaching music to students who are mainstreamed?

This blog is designed to offer strategies to teach music more effectively to special learners.

I chose to spend my teaching day with special learners. I am a general music teacher by trade and an adaptive music teacher at heart. I love devising strategies and lessons that will address the needs of my students through music.

I am fortunate to work in a district that allows me to specialize in this area. I am taking the ball and running with it.

As a music teacher......I need your input.

What are the specific disorders and disabilities you see in your classroom?

What are the positives for you in teaching special learners music?

What are the challenges?

What specific music activities or strategies do you need for your special need students?

Drop a comment and let's get the dialogue going.

I will be happy to post your questions and provide answers, suggestions or lead you to the right source.

We are about to make music really, really special!
